Personal Vs. Business Tweeting

Twitter is all the rage in the personal social networking world as well as it is in the business world. But what is the difference between Personal vs. Business Tweeting. Is there a way to tweet on your personal time and another way to tweet on your business time? I believe if you are tweeting for business in any fashion, then your world of personal vs. business tweeting will be very much blurred.

If you are tweeting for yourself and yourself only, then you have nothing to think about besides only your own reputation. You are allowed to tweet about pretty much whatever you want and interact with whomever you wish. You can tell people: “I am eating a carrot” and share the link to a silly cartoon. Friends and family can follow your life closely without being at your side. Tweeting can have many perks. For instance, many companies like to interact with their current and/or future customers. By following and interacting, you may open the door to great incentives from that company such as discounts and giveaways.

On the other hand, there is tweeting for business. Business MUST make their twitter interactions just as personal as personal tweeting. This is social networking, and you are on Twitter to socially network, not just post content, coupons, and events.

Hosted vs. Non-Hosted Blog

Many more individuals are beginning to get their feet wet in the world of blogging. If you are just starting out researching about blogging, you may have come across the terms hosted and non-hosted. There is a question being asked fairly often pertaining to this subject.  Should I go with an already hosted blog, or should I go with a non-hosted blog to host it on my own domain and server?

What does hosted/non-hosted mean anyway?

A hosted blog means that it is hosted on someone else’s server.

A non-hosted blog means that it is hosted on YOUR server

Hosted

Examples of blogging platform websites are: Blogger.com, Wordpress.com, Tumblr.com, LiveJournal.com, and more. Each of these sites give you a FREE account with extreme ease to start getting your content out to the world. With a hosted blog service, you don’t need to install any software or doing backups, etc. You just simply produce content.

However, there are a few cons to the hosted account. Hosted accounts can appear to be a little less professional looking. You have limited control over customizing with CSS and HTML. Some of the hosted accounts don’t even allow advertising.

Defining Social Media Optimization

Defining Social Media Optimization
By: Louis Thomas

Social media optimization refers to a process or set of methods for alluring web visitors to the website. It is a process with which a marketer promotes and publicizes the company or its products and services through the social media. A businessperson aims at using this form of promotion to build the brand image of the company among the web visitors. A marketer can spread a word about his company through Internet.

SMO methods can be performed using the social networking sites such as Facebook, Twitter and much more. You can also use blogging to trace the impression of your company. You can create your own blogs and post the comment related to the business or the organization. A marketer can also post the link of the website of the organization. This promotes your organization in a comprehensive and unique manner. A person can also incorporate the images and video files that demonstrate the product of the company. A marketer can use RSS feeds, social news, user rating, polling tools, sharing buttons and other such methods to promote the company. The company can make its presence felt through online forums. You can post your comment on any subject related to the industry where you are working.

Why Top Management Should Tweet?

The business world is beginning to embrace the online world much more now. Many businesses were slow to jump on board because this was a world that business owners did not understand. Now that most businesses are online, they are starting to see and hear about even more “things” they don’t understand. Lately, social media related tools are being used for business. Again, there are those businesses that are slow to jumping on because they just don’t understand what it is and how is something like “Twitter” going to help me?

The question, Why should I tweet?, is being asked very often lately. A typical non-business owner doesn’t have to ask the question, they see people and here the buzz, so they jump in. For some reason, people who manage business want to know, WHY? Why should I, or the other managers in my company tweet? Not only are there many explanations of why you should Tweet, but there are facts that’s will give you very good reason to do so.

Why Top Management of a business should Tweet? Is actually the same as Why anyone should Tweet. This is something for each individual to answer on their own! But to each of you asking the question, whatever you and your employees do or don’t do affects how others are able to interact with you and how you’re able to interact with your world. Just like phones, faxes, email, etc., Twitter is just the latest technology to help us extend the boundaries of the world with which we can interact. If used correctly, managers who tweet create another social resource for themselves, just as book clubs, friends, network meetings, events, etc.

50 Post Titles Before Starting Your Blog

When starting out with a new blog, the biggest question is, What Exactly Will I Blog About? Picking a specific topic will be a major task for whoever is going to be producing the content. Even if you think you have selected a topic that you really love, can this topic allow you to post a continues stream of content for years to come? Gary Vaynerchuk has suggested a great way to get this problem out of the way. It is in your best interest to create a list of at least 50 post titles to blog about before you even start.

There are a few reasons why Gary V. and even I suggest creating a list of 50 post titles that you can create content on. If you are truly passionate about your topic and content area, creating a list of this size should be a breeze. You should be so excited about creating content that you are passionate about; you can come up with these 50 post titles in no time.

If you can create a list of 50 post titles for your blog, you should have no problem creating a steady stream of content. If you were to create at least one post per week, these topics would last you ONE year! How great would it be if all you had to do was pump out the content for the rest of the year rather than figuring out what to post about as you went along?  If you can’t come up with a list of this size, then maybe you do not know enough information or maybe you’re not passionate enough to take this topic to its full potential.
